Steven Seagal’s On Deadly Ground!! Welcome to my daily life of equally awesome and shitty movies :)
Love those days when I have nothing to do at all! They tend to occur a bit too often, but it’s still fun lol

This was the movie where ole Stevie jumped the shark. Man, it was awful. He tried to regain his swagger with Under Siege 2 and his supporting role in Executive Decision, but then really let the wheels shoot off with The Glimmer Man.

US2 is entertaining and was a valiant attempt to recover from the steaming pile of crap that was On Deadly Ground. But then you had The Glimmer Man, which is somewhat watchable. And then the end came with Fire Down Below (which is even worse than ODG), followed by all the direct to video releases that keep him in Ding Dongs and HoHos.

Haha, yes On Deadly Ground is shit, but it’s funny shit! The mercenary describing Steven is memorable! Or the ecologist monologue at the end about electric cars... gosh it’s so awesome! Glimmer man was fun from what I recall but o haven’t watched in like 10+ years and it’s a Seagal movie so... yeah I don’t tenement it much lol
I’ll have to buy the laserdisc!!

Glimmer Man is possibly the greatest shitty shoot ‘em up movie ever. In every movie ever the good guy gets the shit beat out of him and against all odds somehow manages to win the big fight even though he is on the edge of death. I’m looking at you Die Hard, Last Man Standing , Lethal Weapon, etc. Glimmer Man is great because there is none of that. Seagal gets hit one time the whole movie and that is only because he lets the bad guy throw a free punch.

But Brian Cox’s character saying “Come on in, the water’s fine” in that creepy accent still gives me nightmares. Plus Admiral Chedwidden from JAG has to be the worst “bad ass” bad guy ever cast. I will give you the restaurant scene, though.
